Personally, I wouldn't go with Swordsage. (Btw, I have been influenced by some animes and games for the creation of this character, the most prominent ones being Rurouni Kenshin and Devil May Cry.) Int 19 (Initial 17, includes +2 Racial bonus from Human) Str 16 (Initial 15, includes +1 point from lvl 4 boost)ĭex 16 (Initial 15, includes +1 point from lvl 8 boost) Besides, I just love being able to dodge enemy attacks without relying on armor or shields to do so. The spellcasting of the Magus is pretty good, but I am willing to place it second-place in favor of the flavor of the archetype. I do not worry about spellcasting so much, the role of the spellcaster has benn covered by another player who is rolling for a Paladin/Summoner. What I like most is the mobility of the Swordsage class, along with the abilities of the Kensai to fight well unencumbered. I also want a Str-based warrior, who will be using a katana as his signature weapon. (Not saying it can't or shouldn't be done, just wondering why.)Īre you wanting a strength based build or a dex based build?Īctually, I want a character who will be using his wits and intellect to fight as such, I was thinking about using my two highest stats for Int and Wis. Secondly, why are you going with swordsage over warblade? You're giving up intelligence synergy and a better chasis for your character. Why is it you're wanting to do a kensai? This is costing you significant amounts of casting, so there should be a good reason. Before giving advice I'd like to ask a few questions to figure out what you're wanting to do with this character and your thought process behind your plans so far.
